孔明燈 Kongming Lantern

端午節的晚上，差不多午夜的時候，在成都的市中心，素以百計的人把許願花燈燃點及放到河上漂浮。另外我看見一件對我來說更加驚訝的事，便是二十多年沒有看見過的孔明燈。小時候在香港已經不能放孔明燈，因為火燒完後曾經引發山火、燒毀民居等等的問題。這次看見的是我有生以來最多的孔明燈。看官且不要說我大驚小怪吧，因為這真的是一個十分意外的驚喜！


Kongming Lantern, named after Zhuge Liang, ancient strategist in the Shu Kingdom, the area of the modern day Sichuan. One can understand why many people floated these Lantern of "wishes", as I saw the wrapping as people unfold the lanterns from the package, light up the candle inside each lantern, wait for the warm air to "inflat" and then release the lantern into the clear night sky. In Hong Kong many years ago, huts and hillsides caught fire at times when the deflated lanterns fell from the sky. They were since then banned from the territory. Needless to say, it was an extremely present surprise for me since I havn't seen this "ritual" for over twenty as these lanterns were banned when I was a kid in Hong Kong.

Grande Muraille à Chengdu? 成都的长城？

Non, je ne me trompe pas, il y variment en a une partie construite dans une colline près de Chengdu, la capitale provinciale de Sichuan. Elle n'apparait pas autant de grandiose que celle à Pékin, mais c'est un endroit tranquille et pittoresque!

成都的近郊有一"金龙长城"，虽然是为旅游而建做的，但是也可算有板有眼，仿真程度并不差呢！

Je me suis tombé dans cette chanson par hasard. Je télécharge des émissions sur Radio France Internationale souvent. Aujourd'hui, le bulletin d'informations devient une émission musicale, pour une raison toujours inconnue, même si selon moi, c'est un autre perturbation de service à cause de grève. Alors dedans du flicher de mp3 obtenu, il y a un rap sur le thème indien. Les paroles ne sont pas dans la catégorie de PG-13, étant donné des références sur Kama-Sutra ou les connotations sexuelles.


Mc Solar - Au Pays De Gandhi

Si vous ignorez le sexisme, les femmes objectivées, ou rendre exotique un pays et cetera, qui font partie des paroles, et être politicalement correct ne consitute pas votre pratique obligatoire, donc vous vous trouverez dur de rester vous asseoir face au rythme de PARty!

J'avais entendu parler de ce film depuis si longtemps. Finalement, j'ai la chance de le voir en grand écran au cinéma. D'abord, ce film est vraiment international comme les caractères se déplacent dans les deux continents: Europe et Amérique du Nord. Maggie Cheung a une performance magnifique et a joué un rôle qui parlait en anglais, en français et en cantonais. Réalisateur Olivier Assayas, son ex-mari, avait développé le script entourant d'elle.

Le film est bien mis ensemble. Néanmoins, Maggie Cheung est parfois trop belle comme une toxicomane. Mais elle était assez mince comme une.

El Séptimo Cielo

As I dashed back in Beijing, and ran errands, I did not expect another round, the quatro edicion of ciclo de cine colombiano
was in full force. I managed to catch just the last of the four screenings. While searching for the description of El Séptimo Cielo, I am amazed it is by the same director of Buscando a Miguel, a film screened last year which I like very much. El Séptimo Cielo is the first feature of Juan Fischer, set in very metropolitan, immigrant city of the world, New York. Obviously not as refined as Buscando a Miguel, Séptimo is nevertheless a solid piece of directorial debut.

Perhaps I need to see more Colombian films make this preferrential judgment. However, once again, the director had the honesty to explore the intersection of race, class and immigrants in the adoptive city/country. The obvious use of English in conversations, at times awkward, lead audience to ponder the power dynamics of one's cultural heritage and integration.

考考你耳朵，方言懂多少？

我無意中瀏覽到中國國際廣播電臺(China Radio International)之網站，發現它竟然有個別方言的廣播！我知道CRI有英、法等外語，但見到官方機構或媒體使用方言，這還是第一次哩。如果你祥細看清楚，提供的方言皆是在海外為數頗多的語種如廣州話、客家話、閩南話等。我想在一個推廣普通話的中國，對方言的包容主要是對那些海外華僑社區吧... 如果有一天可以有整理過的、可以學習這些方言的資料的話，那將會是最理想不過的了。現在嗎，登錄網站去試試你能聽懂多少吧？如果不太在意迪廳，客家話有點兒想閩南話，也像有點越南話似的，莫非這些話真的有說不清的關係呢？
